The wearable fire lets you carry an active fireplace with you.
It was made with Lou Delamare, to accompany Chloe Schuiten and Vincent Glowinski's Wedding performance.
For three days, entirely covered with black zentai suits, without talking and without seeing each other, like larvae, Stéphane Degoutin and Lou Delamare patiently weave a cocoon that gradually envelops them, until it closes around them and shelters their blind bodies, sensitive only to touch.
The garment is located between the body and the environment, on the border between man and the world. The Umwelt garment creates a continuous space between these two universes that are the human body and its environment. It does not envelop the body like a classic garment, it merges the environment with it.
The person wearing the Umwelt garment loses the boundary that separates their body from their environment.
It is an integral garment, flexible, malleable, degradable, with multiple sensory properties. The material surrounding our body combines handmade processes and chemical substances. Permeable, it has the ability to capture information and substances from the external environment and to externalize the body's hormones.
